First visit Β· Start here

Welcome in. Here's how it works.

Whether you're here for a fade, a beard reshape, a silk press, or your first set of braids β€” you're in the right place. Two Ottawa locations. One standard. Here's everything you need to know before you book.

What to expect

Your first visit, from start to finish.

No guesswork. Here's exactly how a first visit at Walker's Finest goes β€” from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out.

Before

Book your chair online.

Pick your barber or stylist by name, your service, and a time that works. Five minutes, link in the booking section below.

Walking in

You'll be greeted at the door.

Check in at the front. Hang your jacket. Grab a seat in the waiting area if your chair isn't ready yet β€” usually a couple minutes, max.

In the chair

A real consultation.

Before any clippers, scissors, or heat β€” your barber or stylist will ask what you want, how you wear it, what's worked, what hasn't. Bring photos if you have them. No question is a dumb one.

Walking out

You'll know how to maintain it.

Before you leave, you'll get product recommendations and care tips for your hair type. Pay at the front. Book your next visit while you're there β€” it's the easiest way to keep your schedule locked.

How to book

Pick your barber by name.

Booking online takes about three minutes. Pick your location, your barber or stylist, your service, and a time. Done.

One important thing

Always book by your barber or stylist's name β€” never "any available." It cuts down wait times, prevents no-shows, and means the person who knows your hair gets your chair.

Frequently asked

New client questions, answered.

The things first-timers ask before they walk in. If yours isn't here, just call the shop β€” we'd rather answer it than have you wonder.

Absolutely. Your barber or stylist will take a few minutes at the start to ask about your hair, your routine, and what you're going for. Bring photos if you have them β€” even rough ones. We'll help you land on something that suits your face, your texture, and how much time you're willing to spend maintaining it.
Plan for slightly longer than a regular visit. A standard cut + beard runs about 45 minutes. A silk press or set of braids can take 2–4+ hours depending on length and style. We'll always tell you upfront how long to budget when you book.
For most cuts and fades β€” no, come as you are. We'll wash if needed. For salon services like a silk press or blowout, clean, freshly washed hair makes a real difference. Your stylist will confirm what's needed when you book.
Yes β€” both shops are family-friendly. If you're getting a service done, kids are welcome to wait in the seating area. If they need a cut too, book them a chair of their own. Our barbers are patient with younger clients.
Yes β€” when chairs are open. To guarantee a spot, especially with your preferred barber or stylist, book online first. Walk-ins are welcome but never guaranteed.
Debit, credit (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), tap-to-pay, and cash. Walker's Finest gift cards are accepted at both locations.
Tipping isn't required, but it's appreciated by your barber or stylist. If you're unsure, 15–20% of your service total is a fair starting point. You can tip directly at the payment terminal or in cash.
No problem β€” just let us know as early as possible. You can cancel or reschedule directly through the booking confirmation email, or call the shop. Showing up matters; so does giving someone else the chance to grab your spot if you can't make it.
Yes. Walker's Finest was built specifically because Ottawa needed a shop that handles every hair type β€” straight, wavy, curly, coily. Every barber and stylist here is trained across textures. You're not going to be the first client with your hair type to sit in our chair.
Silk press, blowouts, twists, braids, and natural hair services are all at our OrlΓ©ans location. Cuts, fades, and beard work happen at both Barrhaven and OrlΓ©ans.
Ready when you are

We saved you a chair.

Pick your location, pick your barber or stylist by name, and we'll see you when you arrive. That's all there is to it.
